Paul distinquishes God’s grace from our works (according to the elemental spirits of the world) by detailing how Christ’s suffering on the Cross is sufficient to forgive us of our sins. This was accomplished by canceling the record of debt that stood against us by nailing to the cross and dying in our place. By disarming and shaming enemy rulers and authorities, Jesus triumphed over them in His death on the cross, a victory we share through forgiveness, life and worship in Him alone.
